Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed Chapter 6 of WoW and discussed the things we noticed. I went over the idea of the red weed and its fatal encounter with bacteria. We also reviewed new words from the reading. Then we went to the essay he began this morning and we talked about further development and research. I re-suggested that he look at the acts of Idi Amin and Robert Mugabe and determine what happened to them. Then we reviewed the vocabulary words and set his homework. He is to continue developing his essay on improving the behavior of erratic people and he is to read Ch 7 "The Man on Putney Hill" in WoW and write four sentences with his new vocab words. I can meet with him online in the evening!"
"We started the session discussing the rest of the semester in regards to the student's scheduling for exams and finals. We then studied together for his writing quiz on Thursday followed by reviewing his homework. We ended the session by continuing to quiz him on his writing quiz."
"Over the break, he was assigned the task of reading a short story. He was also given a packet that included a series of questions about the book, including comparing and contrasting characters, selecting action words from the book, choosing quotes from the book to create a poem, and a writing element focused on two pieces of the book that he found the most intriguing and relatable to his own life."
