Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to go through his final review. We also worked on his equation note cards, and then practiced problems and test-taking skills by doing quizzes he had due after his final. At the end of the session, we went over test-taking skills that he should use depending on how his test is set up and emphasized the importance of not rushing to answer every question but rather taking time to answer questions correctly."
"We reviewed for the student's final. We did several problems and worked through a few integrals. She has the right intuition for most of them and only needs practice to solidify her skills before the test."
"Today we reviewed a set of problems that I created to help the student review topics for an upcoming quiz as well as her cumulative final. These practice problems covered graphing conics, simplifying and solving expressions and equations with exponents and radicals, and graphing equations with radicals. We also intensively reviewed properties of exponents and radicals and techniques for simplifying them in preparation for a quiz she has tomorrow."
"The student and I went over some of his homework and reviewed the previous chapter which included, graphing polynomials, completing the square, and finding rational zeros. After completing a couple problems together he seemed more comfortable with the work."
"Logarithms and asymptotes. The student seems confident in asymptotes and synthetic division. Going from knowing very little about logarithms, he now knows the basics of logarithmic manipulation. Tomorrow's session will reinforce that knowledge."
"The student and I started going over confidence intervals, and we will be finishing up this section during our next session. As always, he had a positive attitude and was focused during the session."
