"We covered logarithmic expressions, inverses, simplifying monomials and binomials, exponential decay, and graphing functions. The student was able to work through the problems on her own and we addressed her questions on simplifying expressions."
"Today we reviewed the student's homework on Pre-Calculus pre-requisites. We continued working on problems in his Pre-Calculus textbooks. We covered Ch. 1-1 today. Namely, we worked on calculating polynomials, factoring quadratics, and completing the square. The student did well on these problems but really needs to be mindful of small errors he makes when writing or computing a problem. We spent some time discussing changes to the schedule. In particular, rather than spend a few days on several subjects we are going to concentrate our math days on preparing for Pre-Calculus. For homework, I assigned the student Ch. 1-4 and 15 problems from this section. Tomorrow, is an "English" day and the student was asked to read up to page 24. He's read ahead so tomorrow we will discuss the parts of the book that he's read and specific takeaways from the book."
"Today we covered all topics for the student's final exam. These included trigonometric functions, identities, and word problems. Also, we went over polar coordinate and function conversions to rectangular coordinates and functions in both directions. We worked problem sets for review and consulted the final review sheet."
"The student was reluctant in the beginning to go through the session since he felt that he was ready for the final. However, after having gone through a few problems, it was apparent that the student was not that ready, and still needed to review. We did as many problems as we could from the review packet during the 90 minutes, but the student will need to review on his own for the remainder of the evening if he is to do well on the final."
"I worked with the student to review chapters 7, 9, and 10 for his non-cumulative final this week. We covered example problems including matrix addition, subtraction, and multiplication, row echelon transformations to solve systems of equations, arithmetic and geometric series, and some very introductory calculus finding limits of equations at a given point. He was able to master each concept in each problem."
"We went over power functions and the roots of what is known as derivatives. The student seemed generally confident about the material being reviewed."
