Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on his rough draft comp letter for his class in which he has to send a note of appreciation to a real company. We worked on a web of all of his ideas to help him organize his thoughts and diversify his sentence structure."
"Today the student worked through some basic math problems including multiplication, long division, and basic geometry. In addition, we went through a practice multiple choice math page from a test prep workbook. Lastly, we went through a few worksheets that covered prefixes and suffixes, and we discussed how knowing these word parts can help her to understand the meaning of the whole word."
"The student and I worked on multiplying rational numbers. We completed her current homework and worked on the homework for the next day. She had a good understanding of the material. "
"Topics covered: test-taking strategies, tips for reading graphs, extracting important information from a question, and solving math problems more quickly. Progress achieved: The student is more comfortable with assessment-taking strategies, including time management. She has now completed many math and science practice questions, which will increase question recognition on the actual test."
"Today we covered trigonometric identities as well as solving systems of trigonometric equations. This was basically introductory precalculus trigonometry. I think this session was very successful. I also got a good grasp of the student's learning style."
"We covered DR AND MRS VANDERTRAMP, which are the only verbs that use (etre) in the past participle. We also covered pronunciation and speaking. Lastly, we went over conjugating in the past and when to use avoir and when to use etre. The student needed help with conjugating verbs in the past using etre. Her attitude towards the material was receptive. She asked questions and was very engaged. She will be very ahead of her class in verb conjugation if she memorizes DR AND MRS VANDERTRAMP."
