"She had to make an analogy with the different organelles in the cell, so she sketched a detailed drawing of an airplane that she assigned to analogous parts of the cell (i.e. cockpit was the nucleus)."
"We covered aspects of wave motion in physics. Specifically we looked at waves and what quantities we use to describe them. He didn't struggle too much with anything. It seems like the class is moving a little too fast for him so he has a lot of information to process. He has a good attitude towards physics and seems interested in it, but sometimes misses the details. I definitely saw some new material click!"
"Yesterday the student and I started off the session by going over her most recent set of notes on chapter 5. She has a quiz coming up and expressed that her biggest area of worry was how her teacher was going to test her. She understood the material well and had a good attitude towards it, but we both spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how she was going to be tested on it. To prepare, we went through all of chapter 5's key concept questions, as well as the worksheets she had gotten throughout the past week. She did a great job on the worksheets once she got the hang of what they were getting at. I told her that the best way to study for this quiz is to come up with questions similar to the ones in her textbook and worksheets. Her notes looked great, and I had her explain each concept to me after she read what she had written. Overall it was a good session."
