Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"-We covered conservation of momentum. -The student handled the material very well today. -The student struggled with understanding word problems with no numbers. We will continue to work on these next session. -The student has progressed very well throughout the year."
"The student and I covered standing waves and sound waves. She did not seem to be struggling and just needs to remember equations and piece the concepts with them. Her attitude was active and enthused."
"During this session we reviewed magnetism. We discussed the two right hand rules and how to use them. We also discussed the convention of how magnetic field is drawn when it is going in and out of the board and how to easily remember which one is which. We discussed how to find the magnetic field around a single wire with a current as well as a solenoid. We also discussed how to find EMF using Faraday's law on induction as well as determining the direction of current in a closed loop that has an induced current due to changing magnetic field."
"With the student, we looked at a variety of mechanics questions. We did examples of work, energy, power, Newton's laws, and harmonic oscillations. Next time, we will work on AP Physics practice questions to get ready for the exam next month."
"The student is beginning a new unit on magnetism. We went over several problems from the first homework set. Much of the material had not been covered in the class yet, so the session was mostly a chance to introduce her to the material and show the approach to solving these types of problems."
"Tonight we reviewed some more for the student's upcoming physics test. He seems to have a great grasp of the underlying concepts, and the ability to tackle the plug-n-chug style problems as well. He is doing very well!"
