Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I worked on obtaining information about a book that he was suppose to read this summer. I assisted him in writing a short paragraph regarding what he has learned. He was calm, focused and engaging."
"This was our last session before school starts for this student. He did well on his homework of eliminating needless words, and we discussed ways to do even better. He had not completed all of his vocab words, but he did very well on the first seven. We completed the rest together. Please help him ensure that he gets his homework done on time, and with vocab, encourage him to read all the possible definitions, not to just stop with the first one. If he is not certain of the best usage, he should seek help. For our last session, we reviewed everything we've worked on for the past month. I think he has a good grasp of all of our concepts: noun clauses, verbals, verb past and present participles, gerunds, direct and indirect objects, and eliminating needless words and phrases."
"The student took a personal narrative diagnostic. We planned which books we would read together, and we worked on her reading logs and annotations."
"We reviewed the student's universal theme AP Lit assignment, revising for coherence and impact. She selected works and themes well and responded to the literature with diligence."
"The student and I covered "writing a sentence with specified vocabulary words." We did about 30 minutes of reading, and I questioned him after each paragraph as to what we just learned. He's a smart student. We will continue working and helping him prepare to catch up and succeed on his exams."
"The student continued to read from her chapter book today. We also worked on digraphs, blends, and reading fry words with speed and fluency. She was very focused during our lesson and worked extremely hard."
