Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is continuing her work in torque, rotational motion and rotational energy. She was preparing for a lab to investigate a sphere's (ball) behavior. The student is to develop a strategy herself to focus on energy conservation to problem solve. On Friday, she had a quiz about torque and rotational motion in which she scored 100%! We were very excited to build on that success."
"I had my first subject with the student today. We worked through some of the problems at the end of chapter 6 in his textbook as he is currently learning chapter 6 material in lecture. He is really determined to do well in this course so that he does not have to take two other chemistry classes in future. He has promised to dedicate about an hour a day of his own time to work on end of chapter problems as practice. We will also be going through end of chapter chemistry problems and homework problems together in session. I think that the student will be much more prepared for his next exam if he sticks to this routine."
"The student and I went over the chapter involving chemical kinetics in preparation for her exam this week. We focused the session on a general review, and the student only struggled slightly with problem setup. The student seems optimistic about her upcoming exam."
"The student did a good amount of practice questions today and she did great on them! We also went over the basics of the chapter and I emphasized key information that she might get tested on provided with examples to help her understand. Her exam is tomorrow and I am confident she will do well. I'm looking forward to our session next week."
"This week, we studied for an upcoming test in Biology on taxonomy, prokaryotes, and protists. We worked through the study guide, and the student seemed to have a good grasp on the material. We also spent some time on a new method for solving quadratics, which he was able to teach me easily. Things seem to be improving grade-wise, which is encouraging to see."
"The student and I reviewed the heredity of genetic traits and the mechanics of DNA replication, including key enzymes. This was a productive session and she had a solid grasp of the material by the end of our time."
