Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was struggling with understanding the concept and differences between structs and classes. We covered the usage of structs and classes involving multiple objects containing variables, private variables, and public functions. I introduced the usage of header files and how classes can contain private variables and how functions within that class can exclusively use the private variables."
"The student and I reviewed the previous assignment, which involved recursion. We reviewed the new assignment, which involved searching an array for values in an ordered, unordered, and binary search. He had some questions about the assignment, which he will ask his professor during office hours. We worked on how to approach the unordered search and he will try to finish that and start the ordered search."
"We covered exception handling, template classes, and function, as well as the concept of a pointer to pointers. The student understood everything really well and had an easy time grasping the material. It was a great session!"
"Today, the student and I worked on C++ matrices, manipulating matrix entries, and reading from data files. She did a good job with the material."
"The student was having a little trouble understanding the concepts of constructor overloading, and copy constructors, so we built a quick-n-dirty class and I talked him through how to make and use copy constructors, as well as overloaded constructors in C++. He understood it perfectly after we did that work."
"The student and I worked through fixing issues with sorting the dictionary words. Then added the code to do a search through the dictionary words to see if a possible word from the matrix is found. I left it with an issue in the match logic between the two."
