Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a test tomorrow. We reviewed how to simplify roots. We also made a plan for finishing the composition course, and wrote the outline for the final paper"
"The student has really improved his speed with multiplying. He's still not quite up to a productive speed, but he's improving and progressing at a very good rate."
"Today we started to work through the student's precalculus packet for school. We covered the basic parent functions along with transformations, and then progressed to circles."
"We covered integration by parts and trigonometric substitution. The student understood trigonometric substitution well. He struggled with integration by parts as most people do when first learning it. He has many practice problems to work with."
"We have completed the review of the logarithmic function and started the review of limits, asymptotic and end behavior of rational functions. The student is making a nice progress, clearly understanding the concepts."
"Because this is the last session that I will see this student before he starts school, we did a cumulative math review of everything that we have covered this summer. He is grasping proportions and operations with fractions well. He is particularly strong with cross multiplication and simplifying fractions. He took a practice test, and where he did answer questions incorrectly, it was most often because of errors in arithmetic. Over the next two weeks, I would like to see the substitute tutor work with him on neatness and organization while showing his math work and continuing to drill the multiplication tables."
