Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The session went well. I worked with each student individually to get to know where they are at on an individual basis. I worked with Student A on critical reading, discussing the different types of questions. We identified his vocabulary as a key area that could be improved. I worked on the math section with Student B and introduced her to the review guide available in the study guide material. Both students will take a practice test over the weekend so that we have more information for our next session and can identify weak areas that need work. The students plan to take their first test in March."
"This was our last session together. We started by reviewing some math topics (systems of equations, probability, and clock problems) and then moved on to reading comprehension. I chose two very difficult passages and we went through them together. He seemed confident and prepared to take the test. I will send him some extra practice questions to review on his own."
"We worked through some portions of a practice test the student took between our sessions. He did extremely well on the math section and fairly well on the writing section (including the essay). We spent some time on the more difficult math problems (usual suspects: combinatorial math, special triangles problems, and sequences) and then spent most of the session practicing mapping passages and answering passage-based questions."
