Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student performed better than much of the class on the last test. We worked on problems on oxidation reduction reactions that included understanding the activity series, oxidation numbers and oxidizing/reducing agents. We also conducted a test review for corrections in concentration of acids and bases."
"Yesterday, the student and I reviewed the final concepts of gases. We went over the ideal gas law, density of gases, and effusion/diffusion, completing the accompanying practice problems along the way. She was able to pull from our meeting last week, and fully explain these new concepts in terms of Kinetic Molecular Theory. Great job!"
"The student worked on a homework assignment to write chemical reactions, predict the products, balance, and classify the reactions. Her teacher has also just introduced naming of acids. Together we went through the reactions 1-by-1. She could write the reactants chemical formulas without any problem, but predicting the reactants sometimes took her a little more time. Once I explained to her that if there is only 1 reactant, it must be decomposition, it made more sense to her."
