Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked on a homework assignment dealing with identifying quadrilaterals, parallelagrams, rectangles, squares, rhombuses, trapezoids and kites. The directions for the homework were a little ambiguous, but with a little more studying on the rules of each of those figures, the student should do well on her test on Thursday."
"This week we spent most of our time going over the current subjects. As noted previously, he comprehends well. Until this session, I hadn't understood until today how much trouble he had with grammar in general ,so that will be a new focus during our sessions. He is a very visual learner, and that contributes to his being more gifted in math and science naturally."
"Both students are doing extremely well. We covered every area of math, and burned through two exams with ease. With the test fast approaching, we'll be holding a general review soon and I'm extremely confident in their abilities. The one is also improving very quickly with his weakest area, geometry."
"We worked on kinds of sentences, quickly went over word problems in math, and I left three essays for the student to work on. Our goal for the student is to get her the basics for fifth grade. She said she was pleased with the session."
"Reading comprehensions: We covered The Cold Equations, Little Red Riding Hood & War of the Worlds. We read about themes, topic sentences and metaphors. I taught the various conflicts found within short stories, such as man vs. man, man vs. nature, man vs. society and man vs. self. We submitted several assignments online, such as a reply to a class discussion."
"We covered Accounting topics, including stock and bond investments, unrealized gain and loss, dividends, and interest income. We reviewed the student's preparation on the equity section of a balance sheet and the classification of current and long-term assets and liabilities. The student has a good attitude and is doing well with concepts."
