Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this lesson, we reviewed the student's Physics homework. Many of the problems had concepts that dealt with circular motion and the type of velocity that accompanies it. The concept of how to approach a problem was emphasized again, and it is our strategy for solving all problems. Additionally, the importance of a well-drawn and understood force diagram was addressed."
"The student and I covered some very important physics equations - detailing the symbols, units and applications. Then I helped him apply them to a few practice problems regarding motion (chapter 2). With just a little help and clarifying the problems he was able to apply the equations and get through them. He feels better about the material now and will continue to study the material. He's also going to get me some problems to cover in chapters 3 and 4 for us to review in our next session."
"The student has his first exam tomorrow on kinematic equations. He has been putting a lot of time into studying at home, and it is clearly paying off. He completed a practice test on his own and got 100%! He worked on a review packet on his own and brought it to the tutoring session to go over. He did very well on the packet and understands the vast majority of the concepts very well. We went over a few problems on which he had questions, including graphing the position, velocity, and acceleration vs. time and finding the magnitude and direction of a velocity given its parts. This student has made huge strides in learning this material, and next session we will begin reviewing material for the next unit on forces."
