Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I discussed many topics relating to circles, reviewing concepts that she struggled with so that she reached understanding."
"Today, we covered the rest of the chapter on area. We covered area of circles, sectors, regular polygons, and ratios between similar shapes. The student caught on quick with the regular polygons. We spent a lot of time covering the more difficult problems involving circles and sectors. We just have geometric probability to cover before we move onto the last chapter of surface area and volume."
"The student and I worked on SAT vocabulary and she successfully completed a 25 word quiz. Next, we worked on the triangle proportionality theorem which she quickly understood and mastered."
"I worked with the student on reviewing 45-45-90 triangles and 30-60-90 triangles. I also worked with him on converting molar masses to volume and metric masses. This was a tougher concept, but he was able to eventually get the ideas."
"The student did a previous assignment again, using compasses and straight edges, which his teacher required him to use. Through tough problem solving and graphing, he understand congruence and bisectors a great deal better."
"Today, we worked through a lengthy chemistry worksheet that dealt with solubility problems. The student was required to predict products, determine charge states, determine solubility, and write both complete and net ionic equations for each problem. Since each problem required several in depth steps, he had slight trouble dissecting each part and not losing track of where he was in the problem. With practice, he improved dramatically, and by the end of our session, he was able to do an entire problem start to finish without any help. He then explained what he's doing in geometry and was able to show me example problems and explain concepts. He's done really well on the past few worksheets in chemistry-- 9.5/10 and 10/10 on all of them. Next session, we'll focus in on some geometry and review the chemistry topics we went over today."
