Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered math for an hour. She is doing well. She needs to review absolute value, functions, and reading tables; we'll work on these specific problems next week. We also started the Writing section, and we covered a lot of grammar concepts (basically everything on pages 101 and 102 of the SAT book). She did really well, and once she understands my approach, she'll be able to score very high. She has math and writing sections for homework."
"Math-- We made a bit of progress with algebraic processes as well as "writing your work out." I think we will start to make faster progress from here on out. Critical Reading-- The student aced these problems as usual and I believe he will do very well on this section of the exam. Writing-- The last few weeks, we went through agreement errors (subject-verb, noun-noun, pronoun-antecedent) as well as semicolons and he seemed to understand those well. We went through run-on sentences and commas today and are making significant progress each session and he's making massive improvements on this section."
"Reviewed SAT reading homework and continued lessons on SAT reading. The student has made improvements with new methods. Her current challenges include vocabulary and passages with heavy scientific terms. She is generally more comfortable with abstract passages than direct ones."
