Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went through most of her review packet for her final. We refreshed her memory on vectors and went over what she needs to memorize for sequences and series."
"We had our last session preparing for the student's final. By the end of these few sessions, she had done 30+ problems that I made that were very similar to ones from her tests (or exactly the same). She marked them based on how much work she needed to do on that kind of problem. If she actually spent the time outside of our sessions to go over those in-need-of-attention problems again, I would assume she would be able to make the kind of grade she wanted to on her test--an 80+. Many of the problems on the review we made she was able to do perfectly."
"The student has a final coming up on Monday of next week. She is going over intro to trigonometry as that is what she had the most trouble with. We spent the time going over some practice problems in the text book. I have taken a list of topics home for the next session scheduled for Thursday. She is continuing to do practice problems from her text book and have questions ready for me on Thursday."
"The student and I reviewed her pre-calculus class to study for her final on Thursday. She was finished her 100+ problem exam preparation worksheet. I also reviewed conics with her, including the differences in the formulas for parabolas, hyperbolas, and ellipses. She is quick to learn, recall, and excel at various concepts. She is also a very fast calculator, which will be very useful, especially in her tests which she must take without a calculator. We were able to make some flashcards, review some concepts, and ask each other questions about all of the material during our study session, including trigonometric functions, limits, and polynomials."
"The student is doing much better with her Pre-Calc. She struggles just a bit with the Calculus material that the class has begun to cover near the end, but she is confident with the rest of the material. We briefly went through every topic of the semester and talked about the major methods and strategies of how to approach each type of question that could appear on her final."
"The student has a final next week. She solved problems in her review packet mostly on her own, and we went over similar problems together. She seems to have a good grasp on the material."
