Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on her geometry homework. She had to classify different quadrilaterals. She also has a final coming up in a couple of weeks so we talked about what we are going to work on next time to help prepare for the exam. I also helped her study for her constitution test."
"The student began by taking a short test on the material from chapter 10. Afterwards we looked over his homework together. For the rest of the lesson we worked on reviewing all the material from his fifth grade book and identifying areas for growth. We are splitting the review up over the next few sessions and I will try working it in with vocal and test prep lessons."
"The student and I met and discussed a plan for preparing for his Earth Science assessment test and Global Studies exam. We also agreed on a schedule for the rest of the week. I left him with some brief notes to look at tonight in preparation of tomorrow's session."
"The student and I wrapped up the last topic we are covering this summer. We talked about how to draw the graph of a function by using both the first and second derivative tests. We can tell when the function is increasing or decreasing, concavity, and extreme using these two tests. We followed a step by step process for each problem. Next session is our last session. We will review everything we have done this summer."
"Today, the student and I focused on electrochemistry and went through several amplifier sets together. She is demonstrating a great mastery of fundamentals, we are continuing to work on integrating all of her knowledge and applying it. She reports that practice problems are going very well on her own, and she is continuing to use missed questions as the impetus for review. We went through several verbal passages together, as this is remaining a challenge for her. Her weakness continues to be missing key words in the question or answer choices that make an answer better or worse. She will continue to practice this. She plans to do a full length practice before our next session, and we will review it then."
"The student is a Latin superstar. He is so good and so quick at translating Latin, and he almost always gives me a correct answer when I ask him syntax questions. I am beyond impressed with his progress. Today, we went over the end of the story we began last week from unit 9 of the Latin course, and we began the next story. His vocabulary is becoming really strong. He should be very proud of himself."
