Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered algebra word problems and how to write an equation. The student did well on solving algebraic problems. She was full of energy, and she was willing to learn. She is a great student!. The session was very successful. Next time we meet, we are planning to work on fractions."
"We went through the student's exam review. It was about different properties of quadratic equations. We solved several questions by different methods. I explained to her different methods such as completing squares, factoring, and quadratic formulas. We also covered graphs as well. We solved several questions on imaginary numbers, discriminants, and roots. She understood them."
"The student worked primarily on the homework that had been assigned for the weekend, with a few extra practice problems. He gave a very descriptive recap of the book he is reading for school and did well reading aloud the chapter that was assigned. The other assignment he needed to complete was answering questions on a short text. He highlighted appropriate information and recalled it when the questions were asked. He was very comfortable asking what unfamiliar words meant and whether his answer was correct. We would refer back to the text and confirm. I think he felt more confident as a result."
"We covered sequences and series in our first session. The student was able to understand today's content pretty well. Today, we covered a more theoretical introduction to the topic, the next session we will focus more on the practice aspect of it."
"The student was very focused and responsive during the session. We reviewed concepts of transformations/translations from her geometry class."
"Today we reviewed some of the homework problems from section 2.6, which focused on related rates. There was a mixture of related rates problems, including: area, volume, depth, moving ladder, and shadow length. The student did very well overall. We then went over the open-ended questions on the chapter review for the second part of his exam."
