Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student proved her understanding of the many concepts we have studied in the last few weeks. She did fantastic during our review for the test. We reviewed all three of Newton's Laws both conceptually and mathematically. I feel that any remaining misconceptions were remedied. We also did several homework problems relating to force diagrams on a rotated axis. To perform these problems, we had to expand upon our "x and cos are kinda close and y and sine kinda rhyme" statement to include that the sine is used when we are dealing with the side opposite the angle and the cosine is used when we are dealing with the side that is adjacent to the angle."
"We had a very good session today. We made it through 90% of the student's problem set leaving 3 problems for her to do on her own. We covered energy in the form of mechanical potential and kinetic velocity as well as in the form of work. She seemed to understand the concepts very well by the end of the lesson. She is continuing to do well on her homeworks and quizzes."
"Today we spent the majority of our session working on problems involving induced magnetic fields. We looked at several examples including problems dealing with magnets inducing currents and flux in wires , and current carrying wires inducing flux on other wires. We also considered the force of these fields and movement of wires within the field."
