Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We practiced solving equations, and he did pretty well. The things he needs to work on are remembering to take the variable out of the denominator so that the equation is more solvable and slowing down."
"We went over dealing with polynomial functions, how to determine vertex, intercepts, and left and right hand behavior. We went over on solving quadratics using factoring and using the quadratic equation."
"The student has a test tomorrow, so we spent the session going through a review of long and synthetic polynomial division."
"The student and I met at the library to discuss his plans for studying for the final for Pre-Calculus. We then looked over section 3.6 - Financial Mathematics to be prepared for next week's classes."
"We covered a little more trigonometry during this session, but there was not much new material since the student's exam was in a few days. She had the general idea for how to approach most problems, and her teacher had specified what types of problems would be on the exam. She was able to narrow her focus to these problems, and using the sheet of practice problems her teacher had given her, we were able to hone in on any weak points in her knowledge and address them. By the end of the session, she felt so confident with math that we ended up covering some physics as well."
"This was our final tutoring session. We covered the inverse trig functions and how to solve for their values when embedded in a normal trig function. We also reviewed unit circles, and the student took a 'pop quiz' of my making. She was a great student to work with."
