Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I resumed where we stopped last time working on continuous probability distributions and worked all the way through the material being covered on his upcoming test. He had some initial concerns about the normal distribution and sample distributions, and we looked at extra practice problems from those sections and I think he'll be very prepared for the test."
"Today we started on regression and correlation. The student is finding this material to be a little easier, and we're moving fairly quickly. We should be able to get the rest of the material done tomorrow, and then we can begin reviewing for the final."
"The student and I worked on a quiz (which the student completed online) and prepared for her final presentation. We selected an article for her presentation, discussed it, and went over types of statistical tests. Before next week, the student will review the types of statistical tests and begin to compile materials for her presentation."
"Reviewed topics we went over last session (T-statistics). Provided sample questions to help student get familiarized with the materials. Went over new topics such as two sample t-test and F-statistics. The student is preparing for upcoming exam, so another session will be held this week to provide more practice. Overall, the student appears to be confident with the materials and just needs extra practice."
"We went over the student's lab on confidence intervals and normal distributions and she started her homework on confidence intervals and necessary sample sizes."
"Today we went over interpreting alpha, beta and power. We talked about the definitions of type I and type II error in relation to alpha and beta, and we interpreted these concepts using two example problems. We also discussed the consequences of type I and type II error in the example problems."
