Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I began working on the first half of her official math review, which included many of the topics we discussed last session. We also took a few minutes to review for her geography exam."
"We reviewed counting money and clock time on the student's homework and then read from a book. He has made a lot of progress in reading and his confidence was good."
"Worked on multiple review packets in preparation for math final. Covered various geometry, volume, and angle problems."
"The student's quiz went well so I started this session, for the basis of better understanding, by showing how the vertical shift of a graph could become a horizontal shift or vice versa. We worked on her review packet for Wednesday's test which went over describing increasing/ decreasing/ maxima/ minima /end behaviors/ zeroes for a given graph and some shifting of graphs before we dealt with usage of absolute values. She prefers a graphical approach to some of these problems vs. trying to construct tables."
"We worked on graphing and interpreting word problems on a graph. The student struggled with reading through the questions and slowing down to understand the problem. I will continue to focus on slowing down for her. She had a great attitude and was willing to learn. Strategies was just reviewing and reading through each question to make sure everything was understood. She did seem to understand better once we finished our session."
"During this session, we covered several concepts in algebra. This was a preparation for a quiz at school for the following day. We briefly went over writing simple algebraic expressions, linear equations, some basic absolute value problems and graphing piecewise functions. The student had a very positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the materials that we covered. With more practice, he will be able to master the concepts that we went over."
