Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I began reviewing for her Math final exam, using some of her older coursework that she had trouble with. We reviewed such concepts as operations with decimals, fractions, and negative integers. We also began preparing for another social studies (geography) test, which is now focusing on SE Asia."
"The student's 2nd half of his Math final is on Friday, it was his last final, so this is all we studied for the entire time."
"The student demonstrated some progress in counting coins, specifically being able to go from dimes to pennies, and nickels to pennies. His writing was also stronger."
"Today the student went over more released state assessment items. For homework, he will be working on multiplying decimals and memorizing his times tables. He continues to show growth in his strategies with math!"
"We went over the second part of chapter 2 and did some extra practice. We then went over the beginning of chapter 3. Chapter 3 was easier for the student than the end of chapter 2. We took a break from homework. Chapter three was review for her."
"Today we covered domain, range, and end behavior of functions. We discussed the various methods of reporting such concepts, such as set, interval, and inequality notations. The student seemed perplexed at first, but after thorough explanations and doing some examples together, she was able to do her work largely by herself. She came into the lesson saying she didn't understand many of the concepts but seemed to have a good understanding of all concepts by the end."
