"The student did her essay for tonight, so we started by going over that. I predicted a score of 8; I noted that the essay could be even better with more details. I then had her do another essay on the spot. This one was even better, earning a 9. We also practiced a lot of SAT Math questions; in general, she knew the concepts."
"Today we focused on the multiple choice portion of the writing section. I gave the student a broad overview of the most relevant grammar rules and question types, and then we worked through problems in a study book. As we went through the problems, we added more topics to the overview notes. We covered a variety of subjects, including subject-verb agreement, comma rules, appositives, prepositional phrases, types of pronouns, forming the possessive, and others. I sent him a copy of this list and asked him to review it before our next session."
