Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"With a test approaching this Tuesday, we went over half of the review guide for the exam. The student has taken notes on the material and is aware of how completed answers should look. I am helping her understand how to approach each topic. She plans to redo homework problems that apply to the lessons we had gone over."
"Today we worked on geometric series. We went through problems on summing up series and compounding interest."
"Reviewed trig functions of any angle, finding reference angle, finding other functions given one function, and finding multiple angles that satisfy a trig equation."
"Today we worked on precalculus for the first time. We covered trig identities, double angle formulas, and sum/differences of trig functions. The student understands the material and has memorized all the formulas; he just needs to practice using the formulas in order to prove identities. He had a positive attitude towards the material. I recommended that he continue with the exercises we started, so hopefully he'll work on those. He has a math test a week from Monday."
"We continued working with the unit circle and finding all six trig functions for any angle. We used reference angles to determine the value of the trig function, and used ASTC and quadrants to determine the sign of the answer. The student reported good grades on recent quizzes and appears to have a good grasp of the subjects covered today."
"The student and I reviewed piecewise functions to include evaluation, graphing, domain / range, and transformations. We also reviewed simplifying rational expressions using the power, product and quotient rules. Finally, we found the area under a curve using rectangles. She is an excellent student and grasps concepts easily. She will review her worksheet in preparation for her exam."
