Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to work on geometry concepts and strategies in preparation for the test. The student did a much better job on free-response problems, showing his work as we discussed his approach. We'll meet once more for a final review."
"The student and I covered multi-step equations, parallel lines, transversals, angle relationships, and SAT vocabulary terms."
"We reviewed for the student's final test, which covered algebra and geometry. In general, she was very confident with algebra, only needing to review factoring, especially with a leading coefficient. As far as geometry went, we reviewed all the topics in her guide, paying particular attention to triangles, corresponding angles, and circles. We also went over the corresponding vocabulary for these topics. We did numerous examples for each topic, especially for identifying congruent triangles. We also worked with sets of congruent angles surrounding a transversal cutting parallel lines. We reviewed such topics as the alternate interior, exterior, and corresponding angles. Finally, we reviewed circles and the various formulas she could use to find arc lengths using circular angles. Our review went smoothly, and she felt much more confident at the end of our meeting."
"Worked on problems involving parallel lines with transversals, triangles (including isosceles triangles and their properties), extended/exterior angles for triangles, and then we wrote algebra equations relating to said angle types."
"- We covered parallel lines and complementary and supplementary angles. - The student had a great attitude, and she completed her work quickly."
"The student is retaking her test tomorrow for Geometry. We covered areas and how to find areas of triangles and parallelograms on a coordinate plane today. We will meet tomorrow to review before her quiz for Biology on Thursday."
