Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I began working on finding extrema of functions today. It took a few examples, but the student quickly began to understand how to determine how many extrema a function has on an interval."
"We worked on reviewing for an upcoming quiz. The student completed homework problems on antiderivatives."
"We practiced a lot on implicit differentiation and also chain rule. The student is very good and getting the concept very well, she just needs some more practice before the quiz."
"The student and I went over problems in local and absolute minima/maxima. For HW, she plans to review the unit circle, which should help her solve these problems more quickly and confidently."
"Today the student was working with the problems of geometric sequence and its applications. We focused on the problems with exponential calculation. We finished with sequences and will move on to the review and sample exam next time."
"Today we discussed Alt. Error, LaGrange Remainders, and partial sums of Taylor Series further. The student used the general formula for the terms in a Taylor Series to derive the first 4 terms in the series for e^x, sinx, and cosx. She was also able to use these terms to develop a formula for the nth term in the series. Afterward, we practiced using these series that we are familiar with to create series for similar functions."
