"We looked at upcoming problems over double integrals and finding the volume of areas bounded by functions."
"Today we covered all the topics that the student has covered from the beginning of the year. We put emphasis on LCD, LCM, GCF and percentages."
"The student is very optimistic about taking the class again, and today we went over some of the topics that he will need to know the next time he takes the class."
"Today we finished chapter 7, which focused on cube roots and the distance formula. We went over a lot of new material, and we took a chapter review test in his textbook. He did well on the first couple of problems but got stuck on the last couple problems. After further instruction, he managed to complete the hardest problem on the page by himself perfectly. He is still struggling with square root estimates, so we finished the lesson working on those until he felt comfortable."
"Today the student worked on his math homework. He was assigned a review sheet involving area and different shapes. He struggled with the review sheet but seemed to show some improvement by the end."
"The student was completing his mid chapter math work in preparation for a quiz/test. There were more problems dealing with taking % of numbers, finding numbers that were the whole amounts from information given on a part of that number. He can read the problem and talk himself through an accurate set up with his number sentence. One question of his that we worked on was that when the unknown term was the % amount, one needs to take the number answer and convert it to at percentage in order to make the answer accurate. We practiced identifying when one is actually doing conversions, and why one is doing them. Some problems asked about rounding off answers to the nearest 10th, so we reviewed the basic process of rounding off numbers, until it seemed comfortable. Productive session."
