Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered Sect. 3.2 over Rolle's Theorem and the Mean Value Theorem as well as Sect. 3.3 over Increasing and Decreasing Functions."
"We reviewed for the test, we did chain rule, implicit differentiation, and rate of change word problems. The student only needs to review more about the word problems."
"We went over the different way of using the chain rule. We also went over the product rule and optimization. It was a good session."
"Today, we completed a review of the student's homework on finding the area between the curves. We worked on graphing the regions, finding the points of intersection, and integrating the functions to find the area between the curves."
"We started working on linear differential equations. The student had a good grasp on these, and we talked about swapping variables to x and y to make substitution easier. We had some longer problems with rates that we worked on getting into standard format and then applying I(x) and u substitution."
"Tonight we continued in his text by covering definite integrals. I reviewed the fundamental theorem of calculus with him and essentially said the process is like evaluating an indefinite integral with one additional step of subtracting the two antiderivatives at each endpoint. The hardest part for the student was in evaluating some of the more difficult integrals using U-Substitution, so at the end of the session, I encouraged him to go back and practice more of these problems and check his answers so we could review them next week before he has another exam."
