Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I did a short review of the topics discussed in the previous session followed by introduction of variety of topics (factoring, solving equations, decimals, percentages, fractions...) that will be tested in the assessment test. He is very positive and hardworking, and a pleasure to teach."
"The student and I went over her review material for her quiz on trig ratios and the law of sine and cosine. She did extremely well with the questions and was able to explain her method of solving triangles back to me very clearly. We spent the rest of our time beginning to go over review material for her final. I pulled questions from her textbook over a variety of topics to get an idea of what areas we will need to spend the most time on. We outlined a basic plan and the rest of her sessions will be focused on finals prep."
"This was the final tutoring session. We practiced the quotient rule, product rule, and chain rule, working on problems with increasing difficulty and that required combinations of the rules. By the end of the session, the student was confident in solving these types of problems."
"We spent this session working out some FRQ's and some related rates problems. She's been improving each session, and we are planning on doing that last little stretch on Wednesday before the AP Exam on Thursday."
"I helped both students study for their algebra 2 quiz on Monday. We went through several review sections on their review homework and worked the problems talking about the concepts (graphing quadratic fractions, finding zeros, asymptotes and graphing). They were very attentive and asked questions. They will have their review material for the rest of the semester next session, so we can focus on the review of the whole year."
"During this session, the student and I looked over her math project, which covered graphing lines and identifying the slopes and intercepts of the lines. We reviewed these concepts and also briefly covered how to solve quadratic equations and how to set up quadratic equations for word problems. As always, she worked very hard, and very quickly picked up the material. She understood the graphing very well, and was great at communicating what she wanted to review or discuss."
