Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Worked on a challenging practice question dealing with a graph, a function, and its derivatives. Began teaching about Parametric Functions and the strange/neat/perplexing things about them."
"The student got a take-home exam for the final chapter on sequences and series. We worked through the problems covering intervals of convergence and different tests for convergence. He has a good grasp of the different tests available, but we will review additional examples for comparison and difference between absolute/relative convergence next session. We discussed the summer schedule and plan."
"We went over quizzes and tests covering integrating and estimating areas under curves to solve for volumes and distance traveled."
"The student and I worked on a number of problems involving implicit differentiation, a Maclaurin Series problem and a problem requiring integration by parts. The session went well."
"We went over the HW packet the student brought home dealing with a number of topics, but primarily statistics: Graphing data through histograms, box plots, dot plots, determining mean, median & mode, using a calculator to determine standard deviation, and setting up and solving systems of algebraic equations."
"We covered neutralization and titration of acids and bases. The student had some trouble with the extremely complicated chemistry problems, which is expected, but was able to walk through with guidance. We briefly covered graphing of circles and what a tangent line is in algebra. I encouraged him to read over the rational function problem explanation page in his algebra book."
