Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I reviewed and critiqued the student's latest DBQ of which she scored an 86%. The progress of her writing continues to flourish, as the student has raised her writing score from the high 60's, low 70's to mid to high 80's. We then reviewed some terms from a chapter she will be tested on this coming week. Finally, she orally presented answers to two sections of the AP Exam she will be taking in early May. I am convinced that she will do very well on the AP Exam based on her knowledge and usage of documents and her vastly improved writing skills."
"On Sunday, we spent the entire time reviewing the format of the AP test. We looked at sample questions, reviewed concepts and discussed strategies for taking the test. We are going to continue this preparation next week and will be looking at a timeline to help with studying and will also spend time looking at successful answers from students from past tests; keeping in mind the changes that have been implemented over the last year."
"The student and I covered his last key terms for this unit for his test on Wednesday. After this, we did several instances of review. We did categorized terms, did some multiple choice practice, some essay prompts, and then some term identification. We got a lot done in this session. I feel as if he knows a lot more than he thinks he does, but he just shows it when he knows it counts, not necessarily in tutoring sessions with me. When it comes to over-arching concepts and connecting them to terms, he's very good at it, which is what counts. Besides his tiny self-confidence issue, I actually think he's doing very well."
