Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met for one final session before her unit test. She was very concerned about trying to keep all of the different problems straight. She has dealt with considerable challenges in remembering what notation like A-sub-N and A-sub-(N-1) means, frequently regarding them as A*N and A*N - 1."
"The student had a homework worksheet that his teacher sent home, so we started our session by going over this. It primarily contained fractions and word problems. He had no problems with the fractions or the word problems. We reviewed decimals and then turned to more fraction practice for his test on Friday. After this, his mom asked me to go over a English grammar worksheet that he had struggled with, so we talked briefly about the proper uses of punctuation and we also talked about how the American government is set up, with three separate branches and the roles of each. Finally, we spent the last considerable portion of our time going over fraction and decimal review and prime/composite numbers online, which he really enjoyed. Before I left, we completed the review page out of his textbook one more time -- that review page covered exactly what will be on his test on Friday. Overall, it was a pretty good session."
"Reviewed adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing fractions. Worked on area using rectangle method."
"The student and I practiced some of his division facts. We did some math puzzles together that helped him practice his math facts while still being fun and challenging."
"The student and I worked on problems involving geometric and telescoping series and convergence and divergence."
"The student and I worked on a few problems concerning Green's Theorem. We then began working through a practice test for the AP Calculus exam."
