"The student and I went over the lecture for her Biology class and discussed the topics that were going to be presented so that she could prepare for the next class. She also worked on Organic Chemistry practice problems from her textbook."
"Pre-Algebra Review: Factoring- The student was somewhat proficient with this already but we were able to bolster this skill. Simplifying fractions- He had trouble with the conjugate, but by the end of the session he was doing very well with it. Solving for x- He had forgotten a few things from what he had learned in school, but once he was reminded of them this part was a cake-walk for him."
"Worked only with the student on her math homework covering Scientific notation and standard form, and the review sheet for her math test on Friday. Also reviewed for her Spanish test tomorrow. She reported getting a 77 on her biology test, which we will review next week to see which areas she is weak in, and will work on building her confidence and knowledge for the next test. "
"The student did great work this session. We went over some sample problems from the math section. The student shows a good understanding of a wide range of math topics, we focused on making sure to relax and read each question fully so you don't misunderstand questions. We also worked on how to structure the essay, and created some quick outlines for sample questions. We also did some more reading comprehension practice and added more vocabulary words to her flashcards, and looked at how prefixes and suffixes can help with figuring out vocabulary that is unfamiliar."
"The student and I had a great session today. We reviewed her chapter 3 material and irregular preterit verbs. In addition we focused on memorizing the most important Spanish verbs including ser, ver, hablar, decir, ir, hacer, etc."
"The students and I practiced vocabulary associated with the calendar, colors, clothing, and the face. We asked and answered questions using the verbs like, where, and have. After that, we started a new unit about animals and the zoo. Over the next few weeks, we will make habitats for the zoo animals and target Chinese vocabulary. Student 1 already made a monkey, which we will put in the zoo. He made a label for the habitat and drew some bananas and other food for the monkey. I wrote the character on a notecard, and he glued pieces of yarn on top of the character. This will help him learn strokes and lines associated with character writing. Next week, we will make a habitat for a penguin."
