Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed grammar basics rules #1-4: subject-verb agreement, parallelism, & comparison errors. The student will work on grammar practice exercises and continue working on math, critical reading, and sentence completions."
"Reviewed homework problems pertaining to multiplying negative and non-negative integers, as well as integers and variables. Plugged in variables and solved simple algebraic equations, and did some more work in the online program."
"Algebra topics covered include definitions of a function, domain, and range; slope-intercept form, point-slope form, direct variations, and graphing linear equations with undefined slopes. Spanish topics covered were speaking final questions. Progress achieved for both sisters was an understanding of how to used slope, y-intercepts, and equations to graph lines, and more fluency in answering Spanish 1 speaking final questions."
"The student and I worked a lot on math skills. As this is his strongest point, I would like him to get near perfect scores on the math sections, which I believe he can do. Along with this, we went over some analogy and synonym practice problems. His vocabulary is better, as he has studied approximately 100 words, but nowhere near sufficient to get the grades I know he is capable of. He needs to remain focused, despite not wanting to study for this exam."
"We covered the product rule and quotient rule for taking derivatives and went over the student's homework for the week. He had a good understanding of the problems and just needs to be careful with the algebra part."
"The student and I reviewed German grammar, including when to use different tenses (dative and accusative), word order in sentences, da- and wo- compounds, and gender/plural rules. He is very proactive in tackling German. We went over how to use course materials as well and talked about his current college course."
