Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We studied more free response sample questions. Next Tuesday we will also study different types of sample multiple choice questions."
"Today, we covered percent change, including percent increase and decrease. The student has a test next week, so we covered this and will also prepare for his test next session."
"Test Prep: Matrices I left the student with a review worksheet and answer key so he could study for his test on Tuesday."
"I worked with the student on his weekly assignments for his online Statistics class. I explained which formulas to use for different problems involving sample means and standard deviations."
"1. The student's new math class is still working on quadratics, so we reviewed the topic based on his class handout, which was to prepare the students for a quiz today. More specifically, we reviewed solving, factoring, and graphing quadratics and simplifying terms when working with exponents. We covered graphing more in-depth than the other topics. 2. The student seems to enjoy solving the problems and working the problems out on his own. 3. For graphing, I taught him how to find the vertex and x- and y-intercepts. When graphing a system of equations, I showed him to circle the points of intersection, which he can see on the graph and solve for the exact values by setting the equations equal to each other. 4. His quiz is today, so he will have a new topic afterward, and he has pretty much mastered quadratics. 5. He had completed about half of the assignment before I had even gotten there and has great understanding of the material."
"We worked on phonics, spelling, letter manipulation, and math (addition and subtraction with and without regrouping). We mostly reviewed concepts to assess what the student is struggling with."
