Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We met together to review some of his homework from his algebra class. We specifically went over quadratic equations and complex number problems. For instance, a particular problem ((7-4i)(-3-3i) needed to be solved. Another problem we had was x2+25=0. I did not give extra work as his HW schedule has been intensified, especially in math."
"I reviewed some of the topics with the student, for the test. We went over Trigonometry and Graphs, Roots of the Equation, Solving Logarithmic Equations. The results were mixed, but it looks like he understood the stuff."
"Tutor continued to review the materials from yesterday to help students with review for the Final on Tuesday. Tutor covered additional topics that would be on the final according to the student. Specifically, tutor and students worked on Integration of Exponential and Trigonometric functions. Tutor informed the mother afterwards of the progress and explained that student would only need to review on this own until the exam date."
"The student has thoroughly reviewed for Algebra 1, but he will still need to be extra careful when taking the exam! He will be taking the first part of the test in two days. For homework, please complete "pre-test" as well as redo the sample test 1A before Tuesday."
"We reviewed everything we had covered over all of our sessions together. The student was able to perform most if not all of everything we have gone over, with the student only struggling with algebraic equations involving more than one variable."
"We did more review, going over what I assigned last time. We did logs and simplifying expressions. We found that she still needs lots of practice on her general algebra skills, though she has improved. I assigned the remaining sections in her book, and one of the full exams from the back."
"The student was studying for her final exam. She didn't have any study materials with her, so we did a couple things. We looked up the common core units and did some review from the materials we found for that, focusing on the earlier units since those are less fresh in her mind. In particular, we reviewed functions, patterns, and order of operations. She also asked to review exponents and roots. After that, we looked up review resources on her teacher's web page. We were able to go through several Unit reviews, and she plans to continue using those review sheets to study for her final."
"During this session we went over questions the student was having difficulty with on a practice tests. Overall this session went well. The student was having minor difficulty remembering concepts from the class so I recommended a review sheet from the test prep."
"We covered derivatives of functions, antiderivative and definite integration. In addition, we covered maximizing functions (profit, revenue and others) and probability distribution functions (expected values, variance, probability). The student was able to learn the information well and understand my input. The student needs to practice basic differentiation/integration rules. Further, the student has additional practice problems he will finish to cement the skills we covered. I wish the student luck with his seminar!"
"The student and I started to prepare for her final on Wednesday. She was nervous about her final at the beginning of the session but I feel and she showed that she knew a majority of the material that we covered which was mainly Algebra from the beginning of the year. She has a review packet the covers all the topics that will be on the final and we started going through that. I asked her to keep going through the packet and circle any questions that she might have for Tuesday."
"The student completed her assignment from the previous session, and had 2 problems she wanted to review with me. She also completed the Chapter 2 Test, with no questions. During our session, we worked through sections 5.6 and 5.7, working through over 30 problems. I asked the student to complete about 15 problems for homework, as well as the Chapter 3 and 4 Tests for homework."
"The student has done very well on prior practice exams , so I just went over some concepts he was having issues with. We reviewed trigonometric ratio problems, single variable equations where the variable in a fraction in the denominator, and compounded interest. He is an excellent student and it was a pleasure working with him."
