Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student finished her homework assignment on linear equations point slope. We continued algebra I review, polynomial multiplication and FOIL. We corrected an error with FOIL. We talked about adding the last term and started polynomial division."
"We worked on place values and factoring large numbers. The student seems to have both down pat. We will work on what he is doing in school going forward."
"Today she completed another worksheet with solving more complicated equations. She also got a lot of practice with finding the slope and y intercept. We went further into what the y and x intercept actually means. I taught her a new strategy with adding negative numbers since she was slightly challenged with that. After a lot of practice, she seems to understand it more thoroughly. I noticed her improving with every problem we did. She is working through the problems quickly and confidently!"
"The student went over his math worksheets, and then did some extra work on place values by completing some extra worksheets that I brought over, which focused on place values through the millions. We then read a book that he chose, identified character traits, and found evidence from the story that supports the adjectives on a worksheet. I encouraged him to take his time when doing his work and not rush through it, which he tends to do in math and reading. Overall, he is a fun kid to work with!"
"The student and I worked ahead in his math subjects, working on some topics that his class hadn't covered yet. He found them rather challenging at first, and said they were "too hard" to do, but with some help he was able to work through them. He also read some to me, and we'll start finding new books for him to read next week."
"We polished concepts of indeterminate values and asymptotes within functions. Mostly we did a review of precious materials beyond that as the student has a test coming up. He improved on consistency with basic operations, making fewer basic mistakes."
