Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on review packets for the final exam. We worked with area of graphs, volumes of solids, solids of revolution, and translating/rotating graphs."
"Worked with the student on reviewing for her final. Worked through her review guide along with a few extra examples. Made sure she had her formulas memorized."
"Worked on a geometry end of year packet, approximately 80 questions. Reviewed any the student had questions on."
"The student is doing problems dealing with the special relationships of sides and angles in 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 triangles. Then we looked at the difference between imperfect and preterite tenses in Spanish. We went over some examples, and talked about certain "rules" that inform when each tense should be used. It was a good session!"
"The student and I re-familiarized ourselves with the topic of similarity, specifically in triangles, and reviewed a wide assortment of example problems, including finding the ratio of A/B for sides and perimeters and A^2/B^2 for area. We looked at several real world examples, such as measuring and predicting the shadows of objects by comparing their triangles using similarity."
"After reviewing all of last week's material (7.7) and ensuring she is okay with all the concepts on her own, we moved forward to the next section on quadrilaterals and polygons (8.1-8.4). I have given her formulas to memorize based on what we learned in these sections. She is currently ahead of her class curriculum."
