Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session the student and I continued to prepare for his final tomorrow. We mainly focused on working on the exercises provided by his teacher, and if he had any trouble with them, I provided advice and tips on how to do well with it on the test. We also went through the study guide that his teacher gave the class. At the end of the session, he said he was feeling more confident about his final tomorrow, which is awesome!"
"We worked on the interrogative pronouns "qui" and "que." It's a really tricky grammar concept, so we ended up spending the whole time working through problems on it. The student got the hang of it, though, and by the end she was able to figure out the problems on her own without my help. Next time will be our last session before her final exam, so we'll spend it reviewing anything she needs. If she can put together a list of concepts she wants to review, that would be really helpful."
"This week, I helped the student review for his final exam on Wednesday. We completed several activities to help him globally review the grammar and vocabulary that he already knows. He is able to produce the passe compose with ease, but I wanted to work with him on reviewing tenses from the past."
"We covered more phrases, verbs, adjectives, months, days, and review on all the topics we went over in the first day. The student is progressing tremendously and he isn't having any trouble with any of the concepts. I think he is beginning to have fun with it as he gets better. We both have French materials, and we are hitting this from all angles, whether it comes to verbal or hearing methods. He is getting better with spelling, but we are focusing more on his ability for others to understand him. I left him with a great deal of things to look over, along with practicing ways to speak French so that French people can understand him, plus I gave him tips on being confident with being able to speak to any French speaking person."
"The student is working on her final project that requires her to create a magazine entirely in French, answering questions about the French language. She is doing well with conjugation and article accordance."
"We continued to study for the student's final. We made really good progress today. We reviewed passe compose, which was good. It is starting to become automatic for her. I gave her plenty of practice to work on. We also reviewed inversion. That's becoming easier too. We spent just a little bit of time on how to tell time, and we'll continue that next week. She's got a lot of studying to do, but I'm not worried."
