Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked through her problem set in order to prepare for her quiz on 2/19. We focused in particular on solubility."
"We went over material for an upcoming exam, genetics, inheritance, and chromosomal disorders. The student is very good at working her way through complexly worded questions."
"Topics covered included Intermolecular forces, periodic trends (electronegativity, atomic radii, effective nuclear charge, ionization energy), and viscosity."
"Today the student and I worked on her test review sheet. We focused on ecology, plant/animal cells, and prokaryote/eukaryote cells. For our next session, she and I will continue to work on her review sheet."
"Today, we covered bacteria and viruses, including what composes a bacteria versus a virus, what they do, how they spread, and methods of prevention. In the upcoming session, I will be going through the vocab by making flashcards with him (which he will practice 10 minutes a day every day during the week). This will encourage him to see the material more than once a week, as well as better prepare him for the test."
"We went over general chemistry this time, for about an hour or so. We went over the first couple of chapters of the student's general chemistry textbook, which include the subjects of the periodic tables, elements, compounds, density, Avogadro's number, as well as multiple conversion problems from atoms to moles. The student is a bright student, and when he is fully engaged, he is able to master the topics very well. We went over his general chemistry homework, which was 9 problems long, with multiple questions within the 9 questions. The last couple of questions he was able to do on his own completely without my help, and he got them right. His midterm is on January 25th, so we will meet next week to prepare."
