Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for his final. We went over quadratic and exponential functions. He has a good grasp on these subjects and should do well on his final."
"I first worked with both students on algebra. We reviewed equations, inequalities, absolute value, operations with fractions, solving for variables, and factoring. There are small rules (i.e. reversing the inequality direction when dividing by a negative number) of which they need reminding; but in general, it seems they just need a bit of practice, as they quickly grasp the concepts they don't fully remember after being shown an example or two. They have several problems (to complete before our next session) that will solidify their understanding. I then worked briefly with Student A on essay organization, reviewing a paper he previously wrote on internet filtering and having him write an outline on technological progress. He understands how to write a structurally sound paper, so we'll move on to developing a more sophisticated writing style."
"Part 1 of 2 of a 'Family Budget' unit. Covered the area of buying groceries. Had two sales flyers to compare prices. Great session."
"The student and I reviewed on his homework. We started off by going over imaginary numbers, we then worked on how to simplify a square root, and finished by working on perfect square trinomials."
"The student had trouble with slope questions and exponentials. Reviewed through homework and practice sheets."
"The student wanted to review all the topics we have covered before. By the end of the session, it was clear to see that she has developed higher confidence and her attitude about math has improved."
