"We continued to go over the practice test for the state math test that she is taking on Monday. She picks up quickly and I did not have any concerns."
"The student and I reviewed multiplying decimals, finding area and perimeter. He struggled with decimal placement and confusing methods for finding area and perimeter, so I left him with practice."
"The student and I went over most concepts for chapter 6 as a review for his exam tomorrow. Trig functions, Pythagorean identities, unit circle, and word problems involving harmonic motion were all topics included in this chapter. Specifically, we went over the review and used to textbook as a guide. As I explained the concepts, he was definitely able to follow along with my explanations. He also was actively helping in solving and getting through the problems rather than just watching and learning. He also wasn't afraid to ask questions! All of these are great qualities to have when you are learning new topics that can be as difficult as these!"
"The student was picking up that material well. Often times, he was over thinking problems, assuming that they must be more difficult than they seem. We worked on identifying patterns, pulling out information from word problems and writing the work to the problems in a consistent format so that when he is pressed for time during an ACT or SAT he will avoid simple mistakes."
"The student was concerned about remembering how to do systems of equations for her exam the next day. She and I worked through each problem on her practice exam. I was able to show her small tips and tricks that helped me in the past. She seemed more confident in the material and stated that the strategies that I shared with her made things a bit easier. I encouraged her to slow down, write out each step, and check her answers."
