Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student reported a good grade on his economics exam; he had only gotten one wrong on his test. This bumped his grade from a 61 to a 76. We are hoping to raise it even more. For physics, the student needs 34 completed 'checks' to receive an A. He currently has 20. We aimed for him to receive another 3 checks on Wednesday by taking the 'quests.' We prepared for the combined circuits quest by doing some problems with circuits that involve both parallel and series circuits. We also reviewed voltage sources and the meaning behind current. Finally, we reviewed Coulomb's Law so that he could pass his quest. We'll see how he did on them next time."
"We covered more information regarding point charges and electric field through a web assignment. Overall, it was a good session covering some of the important math operations."
"The student and I covered electric forces, current, and resistance. I asked him to prove the formulas for resolving a vector into its components."
"We went over circular motion and various free response questions for the AP test. The student was able to solve most of the problems himself with little or no help. He had the most trouble with mass and pulley problems, but understood how to do them by the end of the session."
"We did calculus review! We looked at a bunch of Taylor and Maclaurin series, and today we began with an old final and worked through a bunch of integral review problems. So far, so good! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!"
"We went over magnetic field of solenoids lab of the student and the different magnetic responses of materials, i.e. paramagnetism, diamagnetism and ferromagnetism. In trigonometry we have solved how to plot circle and parabola functions on a graph paper and find their roots."
