"We went over the student's old test questions to review problems she got points off on. This included finding a general formula for taking multiple derivatives, equating values at shared points of differentiable functions, and calculating zeroes of derivatives. The main things we practiced were deriving functions by using the chain and power rule. We finished the session by reviewing exponential and logarithm rules."
"We looked at critical points for functions over intervals -- finding max and mins and determining which is which. We also reviewed techniques for taking derivatives. Also looked at 2nd derivatives to find concavity."

"We started going through a review packet given to the student by the math department. The review packet was extensive and included differentiation using the limit definition, the power rule, the product rule, the quotient rule, and the chain rule. We are trudging through most of the packet, and I think this is good, as all he needs is practice."

We then discussed first and second derivative tests and how to use a number to test for positive and negative values over intervals. Some of the material we went over was previewing for next week, because her teacher had barely touched on the subject material."
