I graduated from Colorado College in the spring of 2015. I have a B.A. in Environmental Science. I am a published author in the scientific journal Hydrological Processes. I am also an author on two more scientific papers that are in the publication process. I have received numerous academic grants, scholarships, and rewards. I was also a music minor in college.
My serious interest in being an engaged and successful student began in middle school. I can pinpoint this period of time because I attribute this development largely to a single teacher. My math teacher in middle school was able to teach with an impressive sense of passion and patience while making sure his students were comfortable with him and his lessons at all times. Since middle school, I have found that my favorite teachers always exhibit these qualities. Now that I am not in school, I have an overwhelming desire to help students in a similar manner to that in which I have so often been the beneficiary. Although working for Tutor Doctor is the first time I have been hired as a professional tutor, my experiences lead me to believe that I have what it takes to be a successful mentor.
I love to ski, hike, camp and play hockey in Colorado. Although I grew up in Colorado, my dad is from the east coast of Australia and has passed on his passion for the ocean and traveling to me. I love to sail, fish, snorkel and swim. I am an avid reader, lover of music, and cook. I have played guitar for as long as I remember and I am always trying to expand my musical horizon in a surprisingly varied set of genres.
