### Gilbert

I graduated in May 2016 with a masters degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University. Maths in general is my favorite subject and I believe I have the right way of making anyone understand it. I teach my colleagues and family members mostly but this time I have extended it to anyone. What I like about teaching is the fact that I can share with people what I know, and this helps me to retain my knowledge on a particular subject.

I prefer to teach individuals because it gives them the opportunity to receive all the attention. I get to know what they are really struggling with so that I can direct the lessons to match their struggles using simple analogies and scenarios. I understand that people who need tutoring have some needs and as such I approach any question they have as seriously as possible. I create a conducive learning environment and I am always patient with my students. My approach is teaching is very simple. I initially evaluate my student to ensure that they have the necessary foundation. From here, I can build on the foundation to enable them fully understand their areas of struggle.

I have tutored all aspects of maths including algebra, trigonometry, calculus, GRE and SAT for a while. I use meaningful scenarios and analogies to explain difficult concepts, making it easy to understand. I have taught students from 5th grade up to undergraduate. After high school, I thought a 5th grade class for a whole academic year. During my undergraduate education, I started tutoring during my sophomore year until i graduate. I also tutored during my graduate studies. As a result, I have enough experience to help anyone in these subject areas. I love to teach and I relate pretty well with my students.
