As a former student, I know how frustrating it can be to struggle academically and for some ideas to simply not 'click,' (without a change in presentation or pedagogy). I also know and understand the joy of being able to work with someone who can make once troubling or cloudy topics clear, even inspiring! Through patience, flexibility, and understanding my 'audience,' I am able to instill in my students that same 'spark' of hope in learning something new.
I studied Civil Engineering and Architecture at Princeton University. I graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor in Science in Engineering (ABET) and a Certificate in Architecture and Engineering. While at Princeton, I was in the yoga club, college councils, chapel choir, and community service initiatives. I plan on pursuing a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science in the future.
Coming from a small high school in rural Pennsylvania, I definitely was not ready for Princeton and hired a tutor myself to help me with physics. After such a good experience with my own tutor, I began teaching English the next year as part of a volunteer summer program in China. I recently returned from Singapore, where I served as a fellow at a design school.
I'm excited to be teaching again and look forward to helping you reach your academic goals!
