Education has been a passion of mine since I was in grade school. Over the years, I've worked to get quite a bit of experience under my belt. I've tutored math ranging from middle school math to algebra. I've worked in grades K-3 as field experience during my time as an undergraduate student. I also taught a math class to middle school aged students at a sustainable farm school. Upon completing my student teaching in a first grade classroom, I was hired by the school as a Special Education Tutor. I spent 6 months working with two girls (second and third graders) who have cerebral palsy. We worked on math, reading, and writing. It was wonderful to see the growth they made in our time together. One of my favorite things about teaching is the relationship that forms between my students and I. For me, it's so important that my students feel as though they could trust me. That trust allows them to be comfortable with me and they really get the most out of our time working together.
Outside of teaching, I love keeping active. I'm a runner, and I also enjoy hiking, lifting, and yoga. I also love curling up with a good book on a rainy day.
